What is the aspect ratio (L/D)?

Length-diameter ratio (L/D) is the ratio of the magnetizing direction length L to the magnetizing plane diameter D. For NdFeB magnets, length-diameter ratio L/D is an important reference for preliminary judgment of the temperature resistance of magnets.

In general, we recommend that the length to diameter ratio of the magnet is > 0.5. (preferably ≥0.7).

Length-diameter ratio L/D is calculated as follows:

(1) For example, the cylinder of D10*6, the direction of magnetization is 6, and its length-diameter ratio is: 6/10 = 0.6, the length-diameter ratio is very good, and its high temperature resistance is good.

(2) For example, the 15*15*3 square, the magnetization direction is 3, its length to diameter ratio is: 3 / (2* = 3/16.92 = 0.17, the length to diameter ratio is small, its high temperature resistance is not very good, need to be further improved.
